That was very sweet

You're right, a lot of sprite animators do get stick despite having some nice ideas at times. But still as long as people are making what they want, they should be happy lol.

But yeah. drawn stuff is a hundred times more creative than most sprite stuff.

sweet little toon.

Emanhattan responds:

thanks dude :)

Haha

Well I'm not too keen on sprite movies these days but this was pretty creative and fast paced and well 'directed'. Nice timing with a lot of the events and the hospital interlude was pretty genius.

The reaction face at the end would have been funnier if I hadn't already seen it. I know it's a homage and all but I think that's the reason why you'll be marked down a bit. It's not so much that you stole the face, it's that you stole part of the 'joke'.

JonBro responds:

"It's not so much that you stole the face, it's that you stole part of the 'joke'."

I don't think it's possible to have that face without it being part of the 'joke' XD

Entertaining

This was my first Edible Castle ep and I've gotta say i really liked it. everything was so damn clean and well put together, and the fact you had a little collab themed around winter olympics events was really creative. everyone did a pretty damn good job too.

If there's one thing I didn't like it was the constant name-dropping...I think the whole 'announcing everyone's name' thing was a little cringey. Like you were going "Oh look this bit's by Egoraptor! Isn't he funny? Oh look Tom Fulp made this lol." It kinda took away from the show in a way cos we were constantly being reminded who made the shorts inbetween.

But yeah, great work overall. loved the voices lol.

EdibleCastle responds:

ah! hadnt really thought about that. we just thought it'd be a nice touch but in hindsight you're probably right. it was just a device we used to show who did what instead of having their names on screen during their shorts.

Terrifyingly brilliant

Damn, your animation keeps getting better and better. some fucking awesome stuff here, trippy colours, inventive use of line work etc. etc. naturally its as crazy as ever and a bit hard to grasp at first, but it becomes sorta dream-like and you sorta just...go along with it. That cat was the stuff of nightmares and the bit where the woman's face started.....melting? scared the crap out of me for real.

wasn't too keen on the soundtrack as much as your previous stuff but other than that it was pretty awesome bro.

Catoblepas responds:

Thank you vvery much.

Really generic.

Boring graphics, a script from what could be like 2004, pretty badly recorded sound (ever hear of a popper stopper?), jokes I've seen a million times before, Master Chief and friends acting like a bunch of teenage students, blah de blah

It wasn't all bad though, despite the stiff animation the graphics were clean enough, and pretty nicely put together. Also, the voice acting was alright too. It's just nothing different to what I've been seeing on NG in the past six years.

Snow-Fox responds:

For the graphics, I wanted to have it extremely accurate to the mission, So that is why they are bland, but for the reason that I wanted them accurate. As for stiff animation, Its true, Its extremely hard to get tweened animation to not look stiff. Other than that, your kinda right about the script, I stole parts from my older scripts which I made in 2006 XD

Haha that was cute

I always pronounced it "Zay-kee" because it went with Spacey =(

Gerkinman responds:

I like the way you think

holy god

awesome soundtrack

I'd like to see more of this but it's an impossibility given NG's file size limit, which even a short toon does like this almost breaks : (

Gerkinman responds:

Ill be making some more shorts like this in the future, dont worry ;D

Oh wesley

Lovely drawings and nice matching up to the audio, which wasn't funny but I can't blame you for that. If anything the doodles brought the comedy out of it, and I like how you animated the studio bits as well as wesley's prison escapades. sweet

JohnnyUtah responds:

do you kids even get the movie references you do you just sit there with a smug face

Needed to be fasterrr

I guess I didn't see the punchline coming but if Sonic's entire stage romp/fight with 'botnik would have been more hectic and fast-paced, it'd have been much more enjoyable. Also, the writing style seemed to bop between parody and serious tribute, so I couldn't really tell what was going on.

Also, most people use sprites to their advantage to create new situations that mimic the old games' styles perfectly, making them seem more like bloopers - whereas this seemed like I was watching someone play Sonic for a bit.

Still it wasn't as horrifically juvenile as most sprite movies so thumbs up in that respect. Don't take the score too harshly ;-)

Golden-Fox responds:

lolk

Hahaha oh my god

10 just because the way you say LOOKITMYDICK is the funniest thing I've ever heard.

DAIRYDOG responds:

you're sweet
