So yesterday I saw Terry Gilliam's Parnassus flick and holy FUCK it is brilliant. the pacing is a little off and the third act (especially the ending) is somewhat dissapointing but if you appreciate anything remotely creative in the slightest i'd say take the plunge and watch it. for you yanks it doesn't come out for like another month, but i seriously can't recommend this enough.

Heath's role was kinda generic for his type of actor but they way they changed his looks and had him gradually take different forms from johnny depp to colin farrel was genius. blues singer tom waits was a fucking INCREDIBLE devil as well. slick as fuck, suited up, smoking a pipe, and an all around cheating/filthy bastard.

I haven't been impressed by many of 2009's films but this ranks up there with D9, UP and inglorious basterds for me.

It LOOKS awesome but I don't think Ol' T Gilliam's stories ever match up to his visuals.

Also Tom Waits rocks in Mystery Men, that for me, will always be his definitive performance.

yeah the story's concept is genius - the execution however isn't as great.

you could probably enjoy the film whilst listening to your MP3 player or whatever because there's so much eye candy there

Looking forward to it. I just recently watched Brazil and loved it, so I imagine that Gilliam has only improved his craft in 25 years. 12 Monkeys was also brilliant.

I didn't even know Tom Waits was going to be in it when I went to see it. I was excited enough about seeing a new Gilliam film. When Tom Waits appeared I think I may have jizzed confetti.

You liked D9? District 9? I didn't really like it too much. It seemed like a strange mix of things and I didn't like the concept of the aliens. But Inglorios basterds is one of my favourite movies of ALL time. Or atleast all time up untill now.
