New Years Eve was bangin' I partied in a secret base

I think I've just narrowly missed the shapes craze. i got a few PMs going 'WTF SHAPES' and i've only just got back onto newgrounds in the last couple dayz, and now all the shapes are gone from the front page except for one movie.

I've also finally recovered my old hard drive that crashed last year, meaning i can finally pick back up on several sexy flash projects. AWESOME.

I'm watching snakes on a plane, didn't know there was mild female nudity in it.

I'm also working on a christmas flash, but due to time and me actually wanting it to be good, it won't be finished till around the 28th. You've heard of a Christmas Carol yeah? Well it's gonna be my take on it. Or something. There's been some awesome Christmas toons (though not as many as the Halloween contest managed to make, holy fuck) this year so its not gonna hurt to add to it ; )

Seeing as I have a month off uni, which has been the bane of my flash side for a while, I'll finally get RC1.5 and 2 out, maybe in the same month if I'm feeling....not lazy.

Christmas flash is coming along swell, though it won't be out until after the day. It's more a winter/holiday flash anyways. Some of the stuff so far has been ace, my fave is Wally's heartbreaking, tearjerking take on the Dickens classic 'Great Expectations' featuring several warner brothers characters. I actually cried.

Also I drew an awesome santa that you can all view/download right HERE. Good times.

It's gonna be a perverted modern twist on A Christmas Carol. If I'm gonna steal a story it may as well be stolen from a fellow englishman ;-)

Wheras Halloween was just a bit of fun, I'm actually shooting for the top with this one. Blood, sweat and tears are going to be put into it. After uni work's over, I'm gonna be animating HARDCORE.

hopefully not everyone's gonna be burnt out from the Halloween comp, i'm hoping to see some fuckawesome submissions by the end of the year. Christmas on newgrounds is probably the best period the site goes through (mainly cos the cyan and black colour scheme fucking rocks).

In this revolutionary blog post I'll be talkin bout a few things, hope you guys'll join me because both of my flatmates are out at the mo and well, Newgrounds' audience tends to be pretty entertaining and full of awesome opinions.

1. 'random' humour. Or humor, however you spell it. Not much to say apart from it sucks and its almost never funny, and it's only encouraging people to be lazy writers and MUFFINSPLEENS DOOM PENGUIN SAYS THE CAEK IS A LIE!!! ^-^;;;;

see you didn't see that coming that means I'm random and therefore the king of comedy, fuck any form of wit or timing when I can just slap all these non-connected things together and make stoned 13 year olds laugh

(in all seriousness, I think there are some good 'random' cartoons like the arfenhouse ones. Or homer.swf, that's awesome)

A lot of people seem to be misusing the word as some sort of replacement for 'crazy' or 'unpredictable' which is a bit annoying. Catoblepas's work for example, is very zany and wacky but a lot of it has a central plot or theme, which is basically the opposite of random. Same goes for Lazymuffin, his characters and settings and voices are a bit mental but at least there's still a main plot that doesn't go out of its way to be all 'nonsensical' and 'loopy'.....it just is.

Someone also described Dog of Man as 'random', when everything that happens in it is pretty clear and in the twisted world that it's set in, actually makes sense (somewhat).

2. I really don't know what to make over the Christmas holidays,but I want it to be something big. I think it's either gonna be a music video or a one-off short about a music class that I've been wanting to make for literally years, so basically I wanna know what you guys want to see. I'm not fussed ; )

3. I'm aiming RC2 for a Christmas Eve release cos I'm nice.Seeing as it's set in winter it's appropriate. its coming along smoothly by the way (after I restarted the entire thing for the fifth time)

4. Is Quantum of Solace any good? I've heard mixed things : /

5. Flash Plug time!!!

Larvae- This is just fucking beautiful, and shows tweens can be put to good use every once in a while.

Tywo at Large #3 - It got over 10k views but for the sheer amount of effort in this it's horribly overlooked, one of the best new series on newgrounds probably. It's pretty long for a flash movie and very graphics intensive but it's really, really worth it. Watch it.

Kid A- this isn't the most well made flash in the world but the concept is great. It's a music vid for a Radiohead song, and I know Tom likes Radiohead, so he should def. check this out.

By the way, CS4 - any good? I've heard it's been made more like After Effects which is what we use a lot at uni.

Aaaaanyways after the next two Rocket Crotches are out I'm gonna make a few music vids because a) I'm sick of lip syncing and b) I think i need to get a bit more mental. Experi-mental. Not 'oh my god this is fucking crazy garbage' experimental, but just veering away from what is essentially a series based on an elaborate cock joke. Teehee.

Also despite the silly name, this game is pretty cooool

I'll be trying really hard on all three of them (they were supposed to be out in the summer but I am a lazy bastard!!!) aaaand hopefully I'll be able to get say one submission out a month, maybe two with some RWD style fancy spam loops and other atrocities.

EDIT: Found the game I was looking for. It's called Android, has gorgeous retro pixel art and is massively underrated because it isn't about stick figures screaming at each other and fighting.
